Jeff is a senior executive with deep and extensive experience in global operations, supply chain optimization, manufacturing, procurement, private equity start-ups and general management.
He has performed numerous turn-arounds and transformational improvements for companies in the food & beverage, steel, pharmaceutical, plastics, and aerospace industries. After his tour as a military officer overseeing development and production of aircraft and nuclear missiles, he progressed through various engineering, quality, plant management, and management consulting positions early in his career. He then moved into broader roles encompassing global support of 550 manufacturing plants, operations in 150 countries, line leadership of multi-plant operations with 2,500 employees, as well as creating the infrastructure and leading operations for private food CPG companies. He has worked in government, public and private companies, including the U.S. Air Force, Mobil Corporation, AT Kearney, PepsiCo, Pinnacle Foods, Unreal Brands, Good Tastes, and Roland Foods; in staff, direct line management, executive officer and board director roles. In 2016, he acquired and operated Burr Signs in Portland, Maine, a manufacturer and installer of large commercial signage across northern New England. After successfully doubling the business, he sold the company in 2018, and is currently providing management consulting services for MainePointe Consulting Group, as well as an independent consultant.
Jeff is known as a hands-on transformational and versatile change-agent, delivering highly impactful results leading business planning, supply chains and operations; reducing costs, improving quality, and growing sales for companies ranging from $1M to $100B in annual revenues. With strong analytical skills and drive for results, he has planned and implemented new strategies, organizations, and processes to dramatically step-change performance.
Critical experience and skill areas include Finance and P&L oversight, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality (Six Sigma), Supply Chain Optimization, Procurement, Start-ups and Capital Funding, Turn-Arounds, M&A, Environmental Sustainability, Sales, Key Account Management, Marketing, Project Management, Contract Manufacturing, Planning & Strategy, Large-Scale Capital Projects, as well as overall leadership for both small and large organizations, integrating all functional areas.
Jeff holds a B.S. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, an M.B.A. from The Ohio State University, and a Quality Management Certification from the Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology. He has served as a board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Redding, Connecticut and currently serves on the board and executive committee of the Children’s Museum and Theatre of Portland, Maine.
